AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps Team Leader - Summer 2016

FEMA Corps, part of the AmeriCorps NCCC program, is a full-time, team-based residential program for people ages 18-24. Members work directly with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and are assigned to regional campuses, located in Baltimore, MD; Vicksburg, MS; and Sacramento, CA. The mission of AmeriCorps NCCC is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through team-based national and community service. Like AmeriCorps NCCC, FEMA Corps requires an 11-month commitment of its Team Leaders, who lead teams of 8-12 corps members. Teams are assigned exclusively to disaster related service projects with FEMA and can expect to complete multiple service assignments during their term of service. FEMA Corps teams will be devoted solely to FEMA disaster response and recovery efforts. Structured like NCCC, FEMA Corps will provide support in areas like coordinating logistics, working directly with disaster survivors, supporting disaster recovery centers, and sharing valuable disaster response and mitigation information with the public. During their term of service, Team Leaders are expected to be the primary point of contact for the team as well as FEMA and NCCC program staff. Lodging is provided by NCCC and FEMA, either at the campus or at the project site.
