Arizona Serve- Student Wellbeing and Academic Mentor

Prescott Unified School District (PUSD) is a public school district over 100 years old that is committed to “Every Child, Every Day.” Due to the disruption of schooling during the COVID-19 pandemic, many students are in need of behavioral and academic support. Some students lacked structure and predictability in their home lives while school was in virtual learning causing anxiety, stress, and unpredictable behavior in the school setting. Because students were separated from their peers during distance learning, they also missed out on social elements of attending in-person school. Our students need caring adults to teach them coping mechanisms and how to self-regulate their emotions, because these behaviors interfere with student learning and academic success.
