The Altamed LENS project, through funding through the Corporation for National and Community Service and the National Council of La Raza, AmeriCorps members serving at Altamed will particitipate in Workforce Development programs specifically designed to address the needs in our community. As a part of a National Service Program, members participate in an intensive volunteer movement by participating and engaging others in community service activities. In addition, AmeriCorps members participate in trainings that focus on their ethic of service and civic responsibility, as well as professional development

Member Duties : The Altamed LENS project, through funding through the National Council of La Raza, places members throughout Altamed to serve as program facilitators to students who need extra assistance in workforce development programs. Members are responsible for the evaluation of their students' progress and the reporting of these outcomes. As a part of a National Service Program, members participate in an intensive volunteer movement by participating and engaging others in community service activities. In addition, AmeriCorps members participate in trainings that focus on their ethic of service and civic responsibility.
