My Brother’s Keeper – San Antonio is committed to shifting the narrative about boys and men of color, advocating for effective policy and system change, and developing the leadership & skills of African American and Latino males in San Antonio and Bexar County. The mission of MBKSA is to improve the life chances of African American, Latino, and other boys and men of color through policy and systems change, shifting public narratives, and developing leadership and capacity programs. The MBKSA mission is organized around 6 major goals, ensuring that: 1) all youth graduate from high school 2) all youth complete post-secondary education or training 3) all youth out of school are employed 4) all youth are safe from violent crime 5) all youth convicted or incarcerated receive opportunity to lead a productive life 6) local efforts are sustainable.

Member Duties : The work of the My Brother's Keeper VISTA strengthens the local ties and youth engagement of the Network through collaboration and capacity building. This position will expand the work within the organization's three workgroups focusing on restorative justice, post-secondary success, and justice-involved young people, by researching and developing the collective impact framework of My Brother's Keeper, and monitoring youth engagement and leadership development efforts, engaging in over 250 unduplicated individuals through organizing and planning MBKSA committee meetings, workshops, and events, and developing and implementing a communication plan for MBKSA to reach all necessary stakeholders.
