Program Coordinator - Community Emergency Response Team
 
 
 
The City of Orlando Office of Emergency Management assists residents in preparing for, coping with and recovering from the effects of natural and man-made disasters. In partnership with the Orlando Fire Department, the City is piloting a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program to empower local residents to respond in the immediate aftermath of a disaster.

Member Duties : The VISTA will develop a comprehensive recruitment plan to reach potential CERT volunteers in all 6 City of Orlando districts by collaborating with neighborhood associations, professional organizations, etc. The VISTA will also support CERT volunteers throughout their certification process. Additionally, the VISTA will work closely with the City of Orlando's ESF-15 (Volunteers and Donations) to update disaster response plans and provide adequate training for volunteers staff the Emergency Information Center (EIC).
