Ignite Afterschool College &Career Pathways Coordinator-MAWY

Ignite Afterschool is a statewide network of organizations committed to closing access gaps to high quality afterschool and summer learning opportunities experienced by young people across Minnesota. Decades of research demonstrate that regular participation in high quality afterschool programs can support success in school, STEM identity, social emotional learning and other key outcomes areas that support positive outcomes for youth. As the statewide network, Ignite supports afterschool programs across the state in professional development and continuous program improvement. Ignite also provides key information on gaps, needs and effective practices to help make the case for afterschool. The network is comprised of other state association, city/local afterschool collaboratives, funders, and afterschool program providers from urban, suburban and Greater Minnesota communities.

Member Duties : The VISTA will increase afterschool providers access to high quality professional development and involvement in continuous program improvement. This will lead to higher quality programs that are better able to serve low-income youth by developing a membership engagement and data system that leverages and expands the expertise, capacity, and contributions of network partners. Specifically the VISTA will: Create a Pre & Post M3 (Making Meaning with Multiple Data Sets) Huddle program in order to support professional development and improve afterschool provider engagement; design an event planning process for the annual conference and coordination of new partner convenings and planning sessions; and design a product based on a 12-month action learning cohort project/curriculum to increase intentionality of social-emotional learning practices in youth-serving organizations.
