African Leadership Group
 
 
 
The African Leadership Group is a nonprofit organization based in the Denver-Metro area with a statewide agenda to help the African diaspora integrate and prosper by connecting cultures. ALG advocates for the entire African immigrant community—across national origin, tribes, and language to ensure continuous improvement to immigrants’ quality of life through Social Impact, Educational Impact and Economic Impact. Since its inception in 2006, ALG has organized multiple community events, engagements and discussions with programs focused on key issues, such as education, career and job opportunities, business development, immigration, political and community involvement, and many other activities regularly reaching thousands of individuals in the local community.  Over the years, the organization has represented/served at least one person from all 54 nations in the continent of Africa. ALG offers several programs through its Committees (Legal, Health & Wellness, Economic Development, Financial Literacy, Women Empowerment, Youth & Education, and Leadership Development) to address specific needs of the community. The programs offered are led by individuals from countries including (Ghana, Nigeria, Guinea, Mali, Rwanda, Kenya, Senegal, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Uganda, Sierra Leone, Ivory Coast, Eritrea). VISTA Volunteer project will help with organization and building the capacity of ALG by developing a sustainable system to manage all committee.

Member Duties : Assess the current state of ALG’s efforts in reaching, selecting, and supporting volunteers for committees, and create or revise policies, procedures, and documents to improve the effectiveness and sustainability of current volunteers. Create communication and strategic plan for ongoing support and to regularly update Executive Director and stakeholders on project progress. Assist ALG in sustaining, reporting, and storytelling.
