Community Engagement Fellowship
 
 
 
The Move for America Fellowship is an immersive service learning experience and Inclusive Leadership development program. You will serve in a local nonprofit to engage community members in decisions that affect their lives. You will participate in the life of your host town, build relationships, and learn about others. This Fellowship Program is an opportunity for you to expand your horizons and practice inclusive problem solving through a full immersion across cultural and ideological differences in the United States.

Member Duties : During their year of service, Fellows serve full-time in a local nonprofit organization on defined community-engagement activities. Each site is unique. The scope of each project and activity will vary based on the host site, which can be found in the VISTA Assignment Descriptions. Common activities include: Plan community engagement events and activities Research and build community partnerships Design community-informed research projects Establish community engagement best practices within the organization The Move for America Fellowship is a transformative experience that builds Fellows’ cross-cultural knowledge, Inclusive Leadership mindset and community engagement skills. It is a Fellow’s responsibility to fully participate in activities planned for Fellows, and in the life of the community. Move for America holds our staff, advisors, Fellows, and partners to the values of Respect, Growth, Openness, Community, and Accountability.
