Hope High KY VISTA – Community Assessment and Liaison

Imagine for a moment that you have a blank canvas to paint upon. Though this canvas is not yours alone but a canvas for you and your friends to paint upon. This painting should reflect not just you but all of you. What will you make? What dreams will you create? This is Hope High. In Evarts KY there lies a once beloved high school just waiting to be painted upon. You will be a key part in the repurposing of this school to help the community and the region prosper and to bring back the energy that once existed in the halls of the city centerpiece. You, along with those that you will work with will leave a legacy to be used and enjoyed by generations to come. This will be a life-changing opportunity for you. You will engage with and come to love the people there. You will work with the Mayor and others to help Hope High be a win for the community. You will create case studies, discover local history and help the project to be ready for funding and the list goes on. Imagine when that future day comes that you walk the halls of Hope High; maybe with friends or family and you relate to them all that it took to make it shine again. Imagine the satisfaction of knowing this was time well spent. Time that you will never forget. The time when you truly began to live.
