Promises2Kids- Development Associate

Since our formation over 34 years ago, Promises2Kids has provided services to nearly 250,000 children and has distributed close to $23 million for the care and protection of abused and neglected children. Through our four core programs, The Polinksy Children's Center, Camp Connect, Guardian Scholars and Foster Funds, we provided over 3,100 youth in San Diego County with the tools and guidance to address the circumstances that brought them into foster care, overcome the difficulties of their past and grow into healthy, happy successful adults. This position of Development Coordinator will be challenged with task of developing relationships within our community that will facilitate access to services and resources that will improve STEM based educational outcomes for your foster youth, develop a grant application process and database for the organization and ultimately mobilizing resources for the organization through grant writing. Our perfect VISTA must have an ability to work in a fast paced environment, have experience in fundraising, grant writing and database management, along with a general knowledge of relationship management and nonprofit practices. The outlook for youth currently in the foster system is dismal, 50%will not graduate from high school, and of those youth 25% will be homeless within one year. Promises2Kids is changing these statistics. 100% of our Junior Guardian Scholars graduated from high school this past year and went on to college. 80% of our Guardian Scholars completed their education last year or advanced another year. You can be part of this change and help one more child transition out of poverty. Promises2Kids will provide a number of extra benefits including local area travel, networking opportunities and professional education and training via STAR12 and other opportunities.
