Wildlife Education Specialist
 
 
 
The AmeriCorps Wildlife Education Specialist will have tasks and responsibilities at both The Lands Council and at Turnbull National Wildlife Refuge to further develop the partnership. The AmeriCorps member would be responsible for preparing and presenting environmental education programs for a variety of audiences, developing and presenting guided hikes for public audiences and school groups, engaging with community members, maintaining and creating education equipment and assisting with operations at both The Lands Council and Turnbull. The AmeriCorps member would also actively participate in riparian restoration projects as well as work to further develop the Public Lands Program at the Lands Council.

Member Duties : • Attend all Spokane Service Team trainings and AmeriCorps national days of service. • Maintain accurate and timely reports and timecards. • Develop Environmental Education Curriculum • Lead educational hikes • Give wildlife presentations to classrooms/organizations. • Restoration Work – Beaver Dam Analogue construction and maintenance • Table at community outreach events • Public Lands Program development • Beaver coexistence work – pond leveling installation projects. • Helping with various projects to preserve wildlife
