Tribal Resilience VISTA: Tribal Colleges and Universities
 
 
 
Since 2014, the Tribal Colleges and Universities (TCU) VISTA initiative has placed VISTA members within Tribal colleges located all across the country with the purpose of developing programming and resources for Tribal Colleges and Universities in the areas of Healthy Futures, Economic Development, and Environmental Stewardship. Currently, we're recruiting for positions at the following sites: Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College in Cloquet, MN; Leech Lake Tribal College in Cass Lake, MN; Aaniiih Nakoda College in Harlem, MT; Bay Mills Community College in Brimley, MI. TCU/VISTA projects range from agricultural/food sovereignty programming, to STEM-related education for K-12 Tribal youth, to climate change resiliency planning, to career advancement initiatives, and much more.

Member Duties : TCU/VISTAs will increase community engagement, conduct research and strategic planning, and develop resources to build the capacity of Tribal Colleges and Universities to serve and engage Tribal communities. TCU/VISTAs will conduct needs assessments, manage focus groups, pursue funding through grant writing, build networks, create educational materials, and foster entrepreneurship in Tribal communities served.
