826CHI Volunteer Engagement Associate
 
 
 
This position is part of the 826 National Network VISTA Program and is located at 826CHI in Chicago, IL. 826CHI is a nonprofit organization that focuses on encouraging the exploration of endless possibility through the power of writing. Our mission is to empower students with the skills to write their own paths forward, undefined by circumstance, and to support new and exciting approaches to writing and inspire student engagement. We offer a variety of inventive programs that provide under-resourced students ages 6-18 with opportunities to explore their creativity and improve their writing skills including: After-School Tutoring, Field Trips, Workshops, the Writers’ Room, and In-Schools programs.

Member Duties : The 826CHI Volunteer Engagement Associate will expand volunteer corps for all chapter-wide programs by building relationships with new partners, neighborhood organizations, and other external partners and retain volunteers and deepen partnerships; Strengthen collaboration on programming or volunteer referrals, sharing resources, and developing training materials, in order to build volunteer cohort and advance 826CHI’s goal to serve more students. Activities will include recruiting and training volunteers, building systems, expanding communication, and managing partnerships.
