AFACTR -PATH AmeriCorps Program
 
 
 
Redwood Community Action Agency's AFACTR (Assisting Families to Access Change Through Resources) AmeriCorps Program in collaboration with the Humboldt County Child Welfare Services and the Humboldt Network of Family Resource Centers utilize AmeriCorps members to provide parenting education, support and sustain the Child Welfare System (CWS) Redesign efforts. Child Welfare System Redesign is a statewide, comprehensive effort to improve California's Child Welfare System. Twelve 1700, 1200, or 900 hr AmeriCorps Member positions are available placed throughout Humboldt County, California. Several positions need applicants skilled in conversational Spanish or are bilingual in English and Spanish. AFACTR members assist in an individualized, inclusive, team-based case management process for supporting families in need of resources and services. As an AFACTR AmeriCorps member you will: *Provide families with preventative case management *Increase client awareness of community resources *Participate in national and community services *Reduce family isolation *Support positive lifelong connections for children and youth.

Member Duties : *Provide family case management and parenting education through home visitation or on site parenting classes *Provide community resources, referrals and information*Participate in all AmeriCorps trainings, team management meetings and national and community service events*Plan & participate in Family Resource Center activities and events*Report program data*Build connections with local community agencies*Maintain professional boundaries, client confidentiality, and multicultural proficiency*Receive Mandated Child Abuse Reporter training*Assist in community outreach and engagements, recruit and coordinate volunteers. Must fulfill an 11.5 month, 1700 hr term of service; MUST HAVE A CAR to be eligible for the program, clean driving record and insurance; must pass live scan, DOJ, FBI, and be clear the Sex Offender Registry. Positions are filled on a first come first serve basis.
