| Member Duties : The goal of Mission: St. Louis is to eradicate poverty by empowering low-income individuals to be leaders in their lives, families and neighborhoods. We focus our efforts within the city of St. Louis, where there is a 28.8% poverty rate. The Beyond Jobs Recruitment VISTA member will build the capacity of Mission: St. Louis by improving the program’s performance measurement process by creating a robust recruitment portfolio and implementing those strategies to increase program enrollment outcomes in St. Louis, MO. As a result of the VISTA member’s service, impoverished Food Stamp (SNAP) recipients and those who are justice involved will increase their income/resources and have access to opportunities that will increase their chance of being economically self-sufficient and contributing to their success in life (breaking free of poverty).
