Community Engagement Data Specialist
 
 
 
The City of Durham’s Community Engagement Team helps make sure underrepresented groups have fair participation in making policies and decisions that affect their communities. This includes working with communities to improve their capacity for influencing policies and decisions that affect their lives. As the Community Engagement Data Specialist, this position will develop and manage data products and processes that further equitable community engagement —in close partnership with the Community Engagement Analyst. You’ll gain the following experience and knowledge: Program & project management, research and data analysis development, and training in equitable community engagement methods and tools, qualitative and quantitative evaluation, and City engagement processes Flexible hybrid work schedule, with occasional required in-person time. Member Duties : The first piece of your work will be to design and put into use qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis plans. This will include creating related materials and tools (e.g., conversation guides, pre- and post-surveys / evaluations), helping with team performance measures, and supporting the maintenance of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool. The second piece of your work will be to provide data-related support to other City departments. This will include researching and recommending new and interesting community engagement data practices, communicating data in easy-to-understand and impactful ways (e.g., graphics, presentations, videos), working with communities and City staff to evaluate and show the effect of our work and decide next steps The third piece of your work will be to design and lead trainings to help community members host community conversations and support community members’ ability to use information to fight for their needs.
