Bethany Christian Services - School Program Coordinator

Bethany Christian Services Unaccompanied Alien Children’s (UAC) Transitional Assessment Center (TAC) will provide short term (30-90 days) residential services to newly arriving male unaccompanied minors ages 14-17. All youth who enter this program have recently crossed the border into the United States (primarily from Central America) and have been placed in Federal Custody while they seek reunification with sponsors. Populations served have experienced trauma and are limited in their knowledge of U.S. culture and the English language. 95% of the youth will be reunified with sponsors who live in the United States and 5% may be referred to Long Term Foster Care at Bethany’s Unaccompanied Minors Program. Due to the short term nature of this program, all the youth will be provided with on-site schooling which includes a comprehensive educational assessment. Along with daily education services, all youth will be provided with weekly individual therapy and twice a week group therapy in order to prepare them for reunifying with family and working through past trauma.
