At United Way we fight for the health, education, and financial stability of all community members by ensuring everyone has access to a quality education, a sustainable income, good health, and stable housing. As an AmeriCorps VISTA with United Way, you will be joining thousands of VISTAs across the country, who are united in the mission of lifting people and communities out of poverty. You will be helping local United Way agencies expand their capacity through activities such as volunteer recruitment, fundraising & community research. As a result of your efforts, the United Way will better understand what food services are available in the community, and which best practices can be adopted to enhance program impact and leverage resources to better achieve program goals. The United Way employee culture is one of service, kindness, and resourcefulness. This is a great opportunity for someone to join a collaborative, supportive team. A successful VISTA candidate is a flexible, self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work with people from a variety of backgrounds.
