Coeur d’Alene Area Economic Development Corporation (CdAEDC) is the economic development organization for Kootenai County, representing all rural communities in the region and the larger communities. Our mission is to build a healthy economy for the region by strengthening the base, diversifying the economy, supporting the creation of new jobs, and advancing workforce development in cooperation with local, regional, and state economic partners, and existing businesses and industries to facilitate business retention, expansion, and attraction. Established in 1987, our organization has been instrumental in helping businesses create 7000 jobs. We also help address challenges in housing and transportation. Anticipated start date February 2023. Come and work with amazing leaders who think forward and help the community through challenges. You will help individuals improve their lives, and the community to grow and succeed while serving in a beautiful lakeside communities with outdoor opportunities and vibrant downtowns. In this position you will work with industry leaders to identify their talent needs, work with high school students, Kootenai Technical Education Campus (KTEC), and training programs. The TPM coordinator will increase business and industry involvement, through one-on-one contact with business owners and workforce development organization leaders. You will help research national solutions and best practices that address housing affordability and availability challenges. You’ll learn to use databases and hone your skills in research and reporting. We are a small organization with three team members and many community partners. You’ll be exposed to every aspect of what we do. We encourage our team members to attend conferences, webinars and learning and leadership opportunities. Member Duties : Talent Pipeline Management Program (TPM): - Establish TPM in Kootenai County for 2-3 industry sectors. - Learn to use US Chamber resources, and database research programs. - Develop program materials for 2-3 collaboratives that we are creating, with the developed program materials as templates for future industry collaboratives. - Meet with industry and community partners to establish the industry collaboratives and identify the service providers that can find best practices and solutions. - Meet with community partners addressing the issue from the “workforce perspective” (private employment services, Department of Labor, Veterans Associations) to align individual skills with business needs. Member duties Housing program: - Review programs and best-practices across the nation that address housing affordability and availability challenges. - Contact other cities to learn about their programs, to determine if something similar can be adapted for our region.
