25 Arizona Serve VISTA - Blue Chip Engagement Coord.

The Blue Chip Leadership Experience is a 4 year professional development program for students attending the University of Arizona. Through the program, students grow as professionals and stay on track to graduate while practicing leadership skills in and out of the classroom. The program is seeking to expand its reach, engaging a larger number of students of color, first-generation college students, and low-income thus providing transformative leadership experiences to a broader audience. The VISTA member will help to implement new programming, recruit a more diverse pool of applicants, and engage community organizations to expand service opportunities for participants.

Member Duties : Develop a Summer Leadership Program: Create a curriculum and determine necessary funding and partnerships for a summer program for high school students in South Tucson and Nogales, Arizona. Create and distribute marketing materials for Summer 2024 Pilot Program Recruit and Retain: Create and oversee a marketing plan to recruit future team leads, with an emphasis on students of color, first-generation, and low income students. Plan social events and workshops to support community and belonging. Expand Programming: Receive training on current outreach and engagement strategies. Create a plan to expand outreach to local schools and organizations to build partnerships to provide greater support and opportunity to students of color, low income students, and first generation students.
