2015-16 Strive for College VISTA - Boise, ID

Strive for College Collaborative is a comprehensive approach to correcting inequalities in access to higher education for low-income students. Our mission is straightforward: that every qualified, low-income high school student has the information and support necessary to successfully enroll in their best-fit college. Strive for College at Boise State is working to address the great need, specifically in Idaho, to bridge the information gap surrounding postsecondary education. We leverage the energy, influence, and knowledge of Boise State students to mentor underserved high school students through the process of applying to, enrolling in, paying for, and staying in college. Our mission and model allow us to envision a strong network of college students to produce a college bound culture in schools we serve, and create a national movement of young people committed to boosting access to education for low-income students across the country. Strive for College also seeks to foster a lifelong commitment to social entrepreneurship, mentorship, and service among today's college students—our future leaders.
