TLC-Volunteer Program Developer and Coordinator

At TLC Family Resource Center, we imagine a place where every child and every family enjoys economic, physical, social and spiritual security. Our mission is to promote the optimal health and development of adults, children, youth and families in our region of New Hampshire. We accomplish this mission through four primary programs that build connections between individuals and families: Family Support, Youth Programs, Recovery, and Rural Outright. TLC Recovery Programs offers specific services for individuals who are struggling with substance use disorders. Our mission is to decrease stigma and harm associated with substance use by providing peer-based recovery support, education, advocacy, and resource navigation for individuals and families. We offer peer-to-peer recovery support, group support, and connecting individuals with other community resources. All of our programs and services can be found on our website http://www.tlcfamilyrc.org/. Our staff consists of licensed alcohol and drug counselors and certified recovery support workers who received their certification from the NH Licensing Board. All staff are people with lived experience who either identify as being in recovery or as strong allies to those who are in recovery. The volunteer coordinating position consists of supporting all volunteer operations at TLC Recovery. The volunteer coordinator will oversee the recruitment, development, trainings, and support to all active volunteer members. Often time substance use disorders and poverty go hand-in-hand. Currently 62% of our population served are within the poverty level according to the Federal Poverty Guideline. Our aim with the volunteer program is to increase an individual’s ability to overcome financial instability by building an organization of volunteers that offer essential resources, substance use treatment, recovery support, and avenues to build social capital to better support a recovery-based lifestyle and reduce poverty.
