24-25 Skookum Mentor and Resource Advocate (Bremerton)

This is an AmeriCorps National Service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. Skookum creates opportunities for individuals with disabilities. We are an AbilityOne contractor that employs people of all abilities. One in four people in the US has a disability. The unemployment rate for a person with a disability is nearly double the national unemployment rate. We aim to reduce that number and help people find work that builds confidence and a sense of community. People with disabilities experience many barriers in daily and professional life. These include transportation, mental and physical health, and social stigma. The member will connect clients with resources to remove barriers. They will also provide job-focused mentoring and help individuals gain financial literacy. Monthly stipend amount: $3,561.
