Community Engagement Coordinator - Family Support Center

The Family Support Center has served families since 1992 with the mission “Working Together to Strengthen All Families”. The proposed VISTA will strengthen the Family Support Center’s capacity to serve families living in poverty through continuing to build and manage over 220 volunteers who support at Pear Blossom Place: A Family Support Community, Thurston County’s largest homeless family shelter, with onsite supportive services and seven permanent affordable housing units. “Working Together” is an important component of our mission as the Family Support Center values collaboration, coordination, and partnerships as the most effective way to build strong, healthy, self-sufficient families in our community. The VISTA project will help us engage more volunteers and community partners in our efforts to “Strengthen all families”. The VISTA project will increase effectiveness and coordination of services within our community as we work together to increase safe, affordable, healthy, housing and economic opportunities for homeless and low income families.
