Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest

Join more than 100 other Jesuit Volunteer AmeriCorps members in responding to local community needs in the Pacific Northwest. JVC Northwest provides value-centered service grounded in our four values: Community, Social and Ecological Justice, Simple Living, and Spirituality/Reflection. We promote peace and structural change alongside our community partners. We serve alongside children, elderly, LGBTQ+ youth, immigrants, refugees, Native American and Alaskan Natives, survivors of domestic violence, and those who are without stable housing or access to nutritious food. We teach about conservation. We learn how to live well within our local ecosystem and we invite others to do the same. We live in community with fellow Jesuit Volunteer/AmeriCorps members. Surrounded by the beauty of the Northwest, our homes are in Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Montana, and Idaho. Together, we learn to live simply and sustainably while also reflecting upon our experience through the context of service and community life. We welcome AmeriCorps members of all religious backgrounds and faith perspectives. We are committed to an equitable and inclusive experience for all volunteers regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability, or religious perspective. While rooted in the Jesuit tradition, specific religious views are never imposed on our volunteers or the communities where we serve. Housing with other volunteers is provided, as well as health insurance. TO BROWSE ALL POSITIONS AND APPLY: Please visit https://jvcnorthwest.org/americorps/

Member Duties : JVC Northwest offers a wide variety of service positions including: education, public health, social work, environmental conservation, legal aid, and positions in direct service centers with those experiencing homelessness, disability, addiction, the elderly, children, domestic violence survivors, and refugees. Many positions do not require prior experience, but some opportunities are available to people with specific undergrad degrees, such as teachers, counselors, social workers, community organizers, and lawyers.
