MNA's vision is that Michigan's nonprofit sector be a vital leader in building and sustaining thriving communities, and MNA believes that active, engaged volunteers are imperative. MNA's Civic Engagement team made up of The LEAGUE Michigan, Michigan Campus Compact, and Volunteer Centers of Michigan expands efforts to reach across all areas of lifelong engagement through the organization.

Member Duties : • Deepen the level of service-learning impact within existing teacher network, as well as increase the participation level of Detroit Public Schools, as well as additional charter and private schools • Recruit teachers to participate in the The LEAGUE Michigan and utilize the Learning to Give curriculum, with the goal of growing The LEAGUE Michigan’s network in the community • Provide training and support to teachers in LEAGUE Michigan schools to develop student projects that will mobilize student volunteers and resources to local nonprofit agencies addressing the reduction of poverty and needs in their local community • Facilitate student engagement in The LEAGUE Michigan, as well as increase student and teacher knowledge of service-learning and poverty • Seek local media attention to highlight the service-learning projects • Create sustainable programming and partnerships, such as develop service-learning training for principals and other school administrators
