Denver Indian Family Resource Ctr - Outreach & Volunteer Co.

The Denver Indian Family Resource Center (DIFRC) provides services to the 45,000 residents who identify as American Indian or Alaska Native residing in the Denver metro area. The families we serve are among those whose children have been abused, neglected or experience high risk factors for abuse and neglect within the family. While DIFRC aids parents in improving their parenting skills, connecting with community resources (housing, employment, substance abuse treatment, etc.) and navigating the child welfare system, there is a need to help families move toward financial self-sufficiency to ensure they can provide for the basic needs of their children on a long-term basis. Many families have lived in poverty for generations and building the capacity to move one generation toward self-sufficiency will help prevent the next generation from living in poverty.
