Red Cross Corp-Los Angeles Region

Our mission is to provide vital emergency assistance to communities affected by disaster and increase preparedness in the areas of greatest need before disasters strike by educating under-served, vulnerable, and special needs communities, and by recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers in disaster services activities. Our members specialize in serving disaster clients, teaching preparedness education and recruiting/mentoring volunteers. National Red Cross Corps members serve in a full-time capacity for 11 months at one of our American Red Cross Chapter operating sites in California. National Red Cross Corps members receive a bi-weekly living allowance ($14,000/term), health and dental insurance, and a $5,920 Education Award upon successful completion of the program. Childcare assistance is also available to those who qualify. For additional information about any of our operating sites, please contact us. Positions will remain open until filled. We have openings in West Los Angeles, Arcadia, Long Beach, Commerce, Glendale and Downtown LA.

Member Duties : Members will be trained to teach a variety of classes to the public, including Preparedness Education and engage in the Red Cross Home Fire Campaign. They will recruit and mentor American Red Cross adult and youth volunteers. They will have the opportunity to respond to local and national disasters and work with disaster clients on behalf of the Red Cross.
