Metrocenter YMCA--YMCA of Greater Seattle

You long for impact and purpose. We offer it daily. At our 13 branches, two overnight camps and more than 200 program sites, YMCA volunteers serve the people of King and south Snohomish Counties with programs and services tailored to fit the needs of those we reach. Three overarching goals drive our work: youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. We have Americorps openings for qualified candidates whose values align with our organization: Respect, Responsibility, Honesty and Caring. The Metrocenter YMCA is one of 13 branches of the YMCA of Greater Seattle, exclusively focused on developing the fullest potential of teens and young adults through a range of innovative and high-impact programs. Since 1973, Metrocenter Y has been a catalyst for sparking young people to build self-confidence, resilience, and hope, and to build a brighter future for themselves and their communities. Through programming that engages a diverse cross section of young people from different socioeconomic backgrounds and life experiences, Metrocenter Y continues to provide innovative opportunities for youth to become healthier, make better choices, participate in life-changing leadership experiences, and create stronger communities. MetroCenter YMCA AmeriCorps members dedicate 10.5 months to helping advance youth outcomes in the areas of education, employment, financial literacy, and life skills in historically underserved populations. A sampling of programs members serve in are Auburn Youth Resources, University District Youth Center, Orion Center, and YMCA programs Young Adult Services, Independent Living Program, YTECH, Interagency Academy at the Y and community learning centers in local schools. Applications will be reviewed in the order in which they are received with interviews taking place until placement is filled.
