TMA Refugee Community Engagement Project - Baltimore

The International Rescue Committee’s (IRC) Community Engagement Program is the outward-facing department of IRC-MD. Its mission is to share stories of the resilience of refugees and other humanitarian immigrants, shed light on the positive work that the IRC does in the community, and engage the community in meaningful ways to actively participate in IRC’s work supporting humanitarian immigrants. Last year, the Community Engagement Program of the IRC-MD leveraged approximately 650 volunteers to provide 60,000 hours of community service in support of IRC clients. Additionally, the Community Engagement Program facilitates donations of needed in-kind goods for clients, saving IRC clients tens of thousands of dollars each year.
