BPSOS AmeriCorps Community Health Worker
 
 
 
To respond to COVID-19 crisis, BPSOS will recruit, train, and deploy 12 AmeriCorps members to implement three strategies: 1) expand and train AmeriCorps members with core CHW competencies to respond to COVID-19 health pandemic, 2) deploy CHWs to build COVID-19 vaccine confidence and uptake through providing effective in-language health education and navigation of medical services, and 3) engage CHWs to help build and strengthen community resilience.

Member Duties : AmeriCorps members will be trained with core competencies and health knowledge to conduct outreach, education and training, and navigation of health services to increase COVID-19 vaccine confidence and uptake across six states: Orange County in California (CA), the Gulfport-Biloxi metropolitan area in Mississippi (MS), Mobile County and Baldwin County in Alabama (AL), the Greater Houston area in Texas (TX), the Atlanta Metropolitan area in Georgia (GA), and Northern Virginia (VA). Subsequently AmeriCorps members will be deployed to build COVID-19 vaccine confidence and uptake through providing effective in-language health education and navigation of medical services. BPSOS will support AmeriCorps members to pursue a career in Public Health by connecting them to local partners, service providers, and employment opportunities.
