AmeriCorps NCCC FEMA Corps - Winter 2019

FEMA Corps, part of the AmeriCorps NCCC program, is a full-time, team-based residential service program for people ages 18-24. Members work directly with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and are assigned to one of the NCCC regional campuses. The mission of AmeriCorps NCCC is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through team-based national and community service. FEMA Corps requires a 12-month commitment of its members who serve on teams of 8-12 people. Teams are assigned to disaster related service projects exclusively with FEMA throughout the region of their campus and if needed, throughout the country. FEMA Corps members will serve solely with FEMA in areas ranging from coordinating logistics at FEMA field offices, helping to assess disaster damage, gathering information from survivors to get the support needed to rebuild their homes and lives, supporting disaster recovery centers, and sharing valuable disaster response and mitigation information with the public. You can learn more about FEMA Corps at http://www.nationalservice.gov/programs/americorps/fema-corps and follow us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/AmeriCorpsNCCC Applicants are encouraged to apply early, as selection is continuous and the class may fill before the application deadline. Must be a U.S. citizen. *We are in the middle of transitioning all our materials to reflect that FEMA Corps will be a 12 month program, starting with the winter 2019 corps. As such most of the materials you will read about FEMA Corps will reference it being a 10 month program and we ask that you disregard that reference. We apologize about any confusion that may cause.
