Overdose Prevention VISTA Volunteer - Vallejo, CA

The CHLI AmeriCorps VISTA Hub is recruiting one, full-year AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer to serve with Drug Safe Solano. Drug Safe Solano (DSS) is a 40-member coalition that represent a multidisciplinary approach to public health, including healthcare systems, pharmacies, and law enforcement groups, with action teams dedicated to expanding access to medication assisted treatments, MAT, as well as Narcan trainings offered throughout the county. Drug Safe Solano's mission is to provide all Solano County residents with access to addiction prevention and treatment resources. The selected candidate will be a part a statewide learning community through PHI Center for Health Leadership and Impact. This community includes support from VISTA Leads and professional development opportunities including workshops, networking events, conferences and other trainings. Member Duties : All VISTA Volunteers serve full-time, 40 hours per week for a full 12-month term. This is an in-person position and the selected candidates must live within commuting distance of Vallejo, CA. AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteers serve as a key support to coalition leadership and help build local capacity to turn the tide on the overdose epidemic. VISTA volunteers improve operational capacity and build a coordinated response to the overdose epidemic. At Drug Safe Solano, the VISTA Volunteer will: create a county-wide intercept map; create and analyze data from a survey to identify where there are gaps in knowledge around Xylazine; conduct an evaluation of naloxone distribution boxes and outreach supplies vending machines.
