EMI's Egress Social Media VISTA
 
 
 
Egress Diversion Program is a new initiative of EMI that aims to decrease the number of African American incarcerated Youth, families, and any other marginalized youth in Bernalillo County by uniting project and community financial resources. To support the Egress Youth Diversion project in its efforts to strengthen Bernalillo County Diversion efforts targeted to our chosen demographics, by focusing on sustainable projects, economic partner development and project capacity building. These efforts will lead to a reduction in poverty in Bernalillo County. “Egress Youth Diversion” will help decrease youth incarceration of targeted groups, while providing access to support with academic success and much needed self actualization and mentoring. The VISTA’s will contribute activities to meet goals and objectives that will reduce poverty for these youth and their families.

Member Duties : Community Engagement VISTA will cultivate relationships across diverse communities to provide new opportunities for Egress Youth Diversion, around education, employment, financial capability, health/mental health, social capital, and sustainability of programs. Organize for staff to facilitate regular community meetings to foster relationship building, collaboration, and promote equitable services for young people. This includes strengthening relationships with community partners, identifying and addressing improvements to working together to support Egress Program success. Conduct outreach, recruitment and screening for mentors, financial coaches, trainers, community partners, and other volunteers
