826NYC Development and Marketing Strategist
 
 
 
This position is part of the 826 National Network VISTA Program and is located at 826NYC in Brooklyn, NY. 826NYC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting under-resourced NYC students ages 6-18 with their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write. Services are structured around our belief that great leaps in learning can happen with one-on-one attention and that strong writing skills are fundamental to future success. Programs include after-school tutoring, evening and weekend workshops, and field trips. VISTA members will have the opportunity to create new systems and enhance current efforts related to volunteer recruitment, training, and retention; support development and marketing activities; and support in-school and on-site programming.

Member Duties : The 826NYC Development and Marketing Strategist will help develop and implement systems and strategies that will increase the organization's fundraising capacity. Activities will include helping to create and oversee the logistics for a new peer-to-peer fundraiser; supporting the development and management of a major annual fundraiser; improving the organization's social media strategy and communication with donors and volunteers; and researching and advising on strategies for securing funding from foundations.
