Alaska Service Corps Crew Leader

The Alaska Service Corps (ASC) empowers individuals to foster personal and professional growth, through hands-on learning in Alaska. ASC is a statewide non-profit, AmeriCorps-affiliated organization with field offices in Juneau and Indian, Alaska. ASC selects young adults 21-30 years old to complete conservation projects, recreational development projects and safety improvements on public lands throughout the state. ASC programs encourage environmental stewardship as well as promote professional development and personal growth opportunities to its members. Members camp during their entire service in both front and backcountry settings. ASC Crew Leaders play a pivotal and multi-faceted role in the success of both projects and the professional development of the members they lead. This demanding role provides excellent opportunities to develop, hone, and teach skills both on a technical and leadership basis. Successful candidates will demonstrate sound judgment, have compassion, and maintain high standards of themselves and others. Due to the nature of the position a devotion to serving a cause beyond one’s self is required.
