As a VIP Fellow, you will be part of a team serving in different agencies throughout our community. You will build a legacy of volunteer infrastructure that will allow your site to provide services for years to come. You will spend time in the community, building partnerships, and forging lasting relationships. This position is a valuable opportunity to develop and apply your leadership and community organizing skills to make a lasting difference in the lives of children, youth, their families, and the local community. VIP Fellows will be placed in agencies throughout Santa Cruz County offering services to youth, low-income families, and persons with disabilities. Please go to our website www.scvolunteercenter.org to see a complete list of sites where members may serve. As a VIP Fellow, your primary role is developing the volunteer program at your site and bringing resources to the people the program serves. Over the course of the 1700-hour term, each VIP Fellow will recruit and train volunteers, and build business partnerships for financial and volunteer support of service activities. Additionally, VIP Fellows will build capacity within the Partner Site volunteer program to provide the support, skills, and resources volunteers need to be successful. Although you are dedicating yourself to the service of others, you are also benefitting from the chance to grow personally and professionally by developing professional skills and relationships to carry with you after your term is over. This position is a valuable opportunity to develop and apply your leadership, planning, and organizing skills to make a lasting difference in the lives of the local community. Learn more about this experience and the local agencies involved by checking out our website www.scvolunteercenter.org. Please note that although this program officially starts on August 16, 2021 we will accept applications until all positions are filled and may have members that start in September.
