Summer of Service 2024 with AmeriCorps NCCC

AmeriCorps NCCC's (National Civilian Community Corps) Summer of Service 2024 program is a full-time, 2 month long service opportunity for young adults interested in gaining experience in environmental work. The mission of AmeriCorps NCCC (National Civilian Community Corps) is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through team-based national and community service. You will train in either Aurora, Colo. or Vinton, IA, then deploy to a project site within the U.S. alongside a team of 6-12 fellow 18-26-year-olds. All participants will receive meals and housing, transportation, a modest living stipend, and a post-service benefit. No prior climate or environmental work experience is required. Member Duties : You will perform direct, hands-on service in one of the following focus areas: reducing greenhouse gas emissions, conserving lands and waters, adapting to the changing climate or affordable housing. Specific potential project types include the following: renewable energy and energy efficiency; agriculture and food systems; education/training on greenhouse gas emissions; conservation; access to outdoor recreation; natural and cultural resource preservation; and natural disaster preparedness, resilience, mitigation, response, and recovery. You’ll also undergo intensive training directly from NCCC staff and project partners. Learn and grow with a team of your peers and gain valuable environmental work experience.
