Project Amistad VISTA

VISTAs will be mentored to sustain the Volunteer Recruitment Program that will integrate volunteers in the spectrum of programs ranging from accessible transportation, guardianship, veterans, resource center, money management, etc. The VISTA member will facilitate an orientation using a training manual and will link the volunteer with the appropriate program based on experience and interest. The concept of developing a pool of volunteers is to utilize them to empower people within the various programs to break the cycle of poverty. For example, in our veterans program, we assist various veterans that are homeless. The volunteers will be tasked with building capacity to improve programs along with assist in fund development and event planning.
