2017 City of San Antonio Adult Digital Literacy VISTA
 
 
 
Support the work of the San Antonio Public Library Digital Inclusion project. Increase digital literacy and employment skills of individuals in economically disadvantaged communities through the use of a volunteer corps to assist and instruct patrons on the use of public computers in the library. This will support the work of the Google Fiber/NTEN Digital Inclusion Fellow by recruiting and training a corps of volunteers to sustain the project beyond the one year term of the fellow. Digital inclusion training would be taught in accordance with San Antonio Public Library mission and values, in coordination with partner organizations, and within the guidelines of the program funder.

Member Duties : Recruit and train a corps of volunteers to support the work of the Google Fiber/NTEN Digital Inclusion Fellow. Program activities include recruiting Technology Volunteers and teaching volunteer orientation sessions. The VISTA will also promote the Digital Inclusion Program in the community by visiting underserved communities to talk about the program, write newsletter articles about the program and network with professional organizations to promote the program. Additional duties will include assisting with design of materials in the following areas, curricula design, volunteer training and promotional materials.
