Big Brothers Big Sisters of America

Big Brothers Big Sisters of America (BBBSA) is the largest one-to-one mentoring program serving more than 100,000 young people ages five through early adulthood each year. Currently, there are over 40,000 children on the waitlist, with five times more boys waiting for a mentor than girls, with most being young boys of color. The youth served within Big Brothers Big Sisters are 65% BIPOC, 55% youth from single families, and 15% of children of incarcerated parents. Through the BBBSA ACT (Alumni Network, Communications, & Training) Initiative, we seek to achieve this in a sustainable way by expanding the capacity of Big Brothers Big Sisters across our network of agencies, building our training capacity, enhancing our communications and marketing efforts, and increasing volunteer recruitment and engagement to address and serve the children on the waiting list, matching a greater number of youth annually. We are looking for individuals who are self-motivated, problem solvers, who work well independently, and value our core principles of Justice, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion. VISTAs will work in Atlanta or Tampa with staff from the Big Brothers Big Sister national office, helping develop the systems and capacity that support our entire BBBS network.
