Redwood Community Action Agency's AFACTR (Assisting Families to Access Change Through Resources) AmeriCorps Program in collaboration with the Humboldt County Child Welfare Services and the Humboldt Network of Family Resource Centers utilize AmeriCorps members to support and sustain the Child Welfare System (CWS) Redesign efforts. CWS Redesign is a statewide, comprehensive effort to improve California's CWS. Currently, 1700 & 1200 hour positions are available and will be placed throughout Humboldt County, California. Several positions require bilingual applicants in English/Spanish. AFACTR members support and assist in an individualized, inclusive, team-based case management process for families in need of services. As an AFACTR AmeriCorps member you will: *Provide families with community outreach and preventative case management *Increase client awareness of community resources *Participate in national service days *Reduce family isolation *Support positive lifelong connections for children, youth and families.

Member Duties : *Provide family case management & parent education on site or through home visitation, *Provide community resources, information, and referrals, *Participate in all AmeriCorps trainings, team meetings and community service events, *Plan & participate in Community/ Family Resource Center activities & events, *Document and report program data, *Build on links with local community agencies, *Maintain professional boundaries and client confidentiality, *Must be culturally proficiency, *Be trained as a mandated child abuse reporter, *Assist in outreach, community engagement, and volunteer recruitment, *Coordinate volunteers. Must fulfill an 11.5 month, 1700 hr or 1200 hr term of service, MUST HAVE A CAR to be eligible, MUST HAVE A clean driving record and MUST BE CURRENTLY INSURED. Must pass live scan, DOJ, FBI background checks and Sex Offender Registry. Positions are filled on a first come first serve basis.
