ABLE Intervention Specialist at Persistence Preparatory
 
 
 
AmeriCorps Builds Lives through Education (ABLE) is an education-focused National Service program. ABLE collaborates with schools that share a mission of increasing the academic success of students in Buffalo, NY. ABLE mobilizes individuals from all backgrounds in national service to revive and strengthen educational environments, expanding opportunities for today’s youth and transforming America’s future—one student, one classroom, and one community at a time.

Member Duties : ABLE members serving at Persistence Preparatory Academy will focus on supporting the academics of first-grade students. The members will work with lead teachers to identify which students need one on one tutoring or academic support. In addition to supporting students in the classroom, members will assist the after school program by implement the evidence based intervention, Positive Action. This interventions will increase academic outcomes and decrease disciplinary referrals.
