Undocumented Youth - Services Coordinator

The Legalization Empowerment and Assistance Program for Students (LEAPS) works with local public schools to identify undocumented students who have worked hard in their studies only to find the path to opportunity blocked by their lack of valid immigration status. LEAPS program offers a comprehensive case assessment to determine what, if any, immigration processes are within reach. For students with actionable cases, we offer our government-accredited immigration services free of charge and work with its donor community to help families afford the government filing fees for these processes. Catholic Charities of Northern Nevada (CCNN) has been serving the region since 1941 and has grown to operate nine social-services programs serving individuals of all faiths. From hot meals and a food pantry to case management and affordable childcare, CCNN is proud to offer St. Vincent's programs to ease the pain of poverty. Most CCNN clients come from Reno and Sparks, whose reputations in the popular culture mask the pleasures of living here. Businesses held over from prior eras are being renovated into hip restaurants, lounges, and boutiques that add an urban flare historically provided only by casino entertainment. Recent additions include the Knitting Factory music venue and the stadium of the Reno Aces minor-league baseball team, both of which have become focal points in a reenergized downtown scene. Outdoorsy types relish a wealth of recreation opportunities including nearby Lake Tahoe, world-class skiing, and abundant cycling and running trails that dovetail with an increasingly pedestrian- and bicycle-friendly community.
