New Americans Contributing to Atlanta
 
 
 
The VISTA will develop a sustainable program in which the metropolitan Atlanta community is made aware of successful refugee resettlement work. The VISTA will engage traditional and skills based volunteers to serve with refugee families and small groups, develop quality marketing materials based on the volunteer experiences (success stories, videos, etc.) to increase fundraising, and increase youth involvement and collaboration on a community level. The VISTA will support the Coalition of Refugee Service Agencies to highlight the cultural, economic, and social contributions of refugees and immigrants to the State of Georgia.

Member Duties : The VISTA will develop outreach and educational materials, highlighting the work of more than 13 agencies in the Atlanta that are serving refugees and immigrants. The VISTA will additionally engage and recruit volunteers by generating volunteer outreach materials and videos as well as recruit, train, and coordinate youth and community based volunteers. The VISTA will organize and carry out two events held on Saturdays in April and September to engage volunteer and refugee youth and also write two grant applications to engage youth and refugees in volunteer service with Catholic Charities Atlanta. The VISTA will work with the development team, identifying six potential funders for a sustainable Family Friend Program and help write an additional three grant applications for this Family Friend Program.
