Arkansas Energy Corps - Feed Fayetteville

NCAT's Southeast regional office is located in the heart of downtown Fayetteville, a city of approximately 125,000 people with growing ethnic diversity, a huge and thriving downtown farmers' market, many community gardens, commuter bike routes and an alarmingly high childhood hunger rate. Fayetteville's School District (enrollment 8,400) has a free and reduced eligibility rate of 42%, with an increase in those numbers by 3% in the last two years. National childhood hunger statistics rate Arkansas among the highest of children (1 in 4) going hungry. You will work with these schools in partnership with area food banks, farmers markets, community gardens and church groups to coordinate a Local Foodshed education program. You will work with Feed Fayetteville advisers as well as with City of Fayetteville staff, committee members and the Mayor's office to facilitate the development of a sustainably affordable local food system. This is a 5 month, 40 hrs/week position, based in Fayetteville.
