Boston Youth Wrestling Marketing & Communications VISTA

At Beat the Streets New England (BTSNE), our goal is to give city kids a fighting chance to develop their full human and athletic potential through wrestling and mentorship programs that reach boys and girls from middle school to high school and beyond. Our mission is to help more kids in more cities throughout New England at a critical time in each child’s development. BTSNE, which represents the merger of organizations in Boston and Providence, has been accredited by Beat the Streets National, which empowers organizations at 9 locations across the country. Its headquarters is in Boston. Our values: Engage, Enrich, Evolve, Educate and Empower influence how we deliver our mission through programming in four core areas. They include: Coaches in Training- leadership development, community service, entrepreneurship, peer-mentoring, and health and wellness are the key focus points of this curriculum held every summer for the older co-ed youth bracket. Mentoring Advocacy and Training (M.A.T.) Time- year long programming that involves three levels of engagement–from learning the fundamentals to competing and traveling– with mostly co-ed middle school students and also high school students. Wrestl(H)er- A female focused lens on wrestling and training in the fastest growing female sport in high school and beyond. Wrestleback- A restorative justice program to instill self-confidence and sense of community to advert the foster care to juvenile justice pipeline. Collaboration with a small team making a big impact means you like a dynamic role. You are dedicated to the cause with a willingness to learn and adapt where most needed. You are passionate about research, data, and writing narratives about our motto, “Giving Kids a Fighting Chance.” Experience in wrestling is not a requirement. Interest in the value of sports in youth development is essential.
