2024 VISTA State Opioid Response grant coordinator

The Office of Substance Use and Mental Health (SUMH) was created as Utah’s substance abuse and mental health authority by Utah statute §62A-15-103. We oversee the publicly funded prevention and treatment system. If you, a friend, or family member is struggling with a mental health problem or a problem with alcohol, tobacco, or other drugs, there is help available. The VISTA project seeks to expand the communication and outreach activities between the state opioid response team, contractors, and 13 local substance abuse authorities (LSAA). This will build mechanisms for better coordination during the second and final year of the SOR III federal grant cycle specifically in data collection and reporting. Assignment objectives: Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) data analysis; 2024 State of Utah Legislative Session engagement; expand OSUMH’s cooperation with the Utah chapter of the American Society of Addiction Medicine (UTSAM); Organize and provide analysis of data from the current and past two SOR grants, 2018- present.
