ACC Employment Access VISTA

ECDC African Community Center (ACC) is a vital, community-based organization dedicated to assisting refugees in rebuilding safe, sustainable lives after escaping conflict and persecution. Founded in 2001, ACC provides comprehensive services to over 1,300 refugees annually. We are located in Denver, a thriving metro area known for its dynamic outdoor recreation, cultural diversity, and vibrant arts scene. This opportunity will allow you to immerse yourself in a growing city that offers professional opportunities and a rich cultural life. As a VISTA with ACC, you will play a key role in helping strengthen and expand our programming to meet the critical needs of our clients. Your primary task will be to develop and enhance programs that directly reduce poverty, improve access to essential resources, and foster greater integration for refugees. For example, you’ll contribute to improving existing employment-training programs, such as our Job Club, while also designing new ones based on a comprehensive needs analysis. You’ll explore innovative partnerships with other nonprofits to connect newcomers with much-needed digital and financial literacy support. This role will provide the opportunity to perform meaningful, capacity-building work while gaining practical skills in community outreach and nonprofit operations. With the support of our welcoming and diverse staff, you’ll participate in professional development and gain invaluable experience that will prepare you for a career in the nonprofit sector. We are looking for someone who is flexible, motivated, organized, tech savvy, able to demonstrate cross cultural sensitivity, and has excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bonus points for competence in a language other than English! The position is full-time for one year and includes an Education Award or stipend. To learn more or apply, visit our website at acc-den.org or contact Rhossy at rhossy@acc-den.org.
