Pawnee Nation College GIS Specialist AmeriCorps VISTA
 
 
 
The mission of Pawnee Nation College (PNC) is to meet the higher educational & cultural needs of the Pawnee Nation, other surrounding Indian Nations, & all who have the desire to engage in a lifetime of learning. PNC’s VISTA project seeks to increase food sovereignty & increase the economic condition of individuals and families of the Pawnee Nation and neighboring tribes by empowering tribal communities to understand how to control and manage their own lands and resources. The VISTA GIS Specialist will design and implement a structure for acomprehensive project and geospatial databases, including equipping stakeholders with the skills to use GIS to inform land management and stewardship activities that increase food sovereignty and economic well-being.

Member Duties : Design and operationalize new Geographic Information System. Identify GIS application support and training needs of stakeholders. Develop training for students and stakeholders for database development, digitizing information, and geospatial modeling.
